Welcome to the Toronto Training Board

Established in 1998, the Toronto Training Board is a catalyst for training solutions. It is an independent, not-for-profit corporation, governed by a volunteer Board of Directors that represents:

News Headlines

  • labour;
  • business;
  • educators/trainers;
  • women;
  • youth;
  • persons with disabilities;
  • visible/racial minorities; and
  • Francophones.

The Board also includes non-voting members from the federal, provincial and municipal governments. 

To ensure that all interests are equally respected, decisions are made by consensus.

The Toronto Training Board is one of 21 local boards in Ontario.

  • Analyze the labour market and employment trends in the City of Toronto to find out where the skills shortages are and what the training requirements will be.
  • Recommend strategies for meeting the training needs of Toronto residents—employers, the employed and the unemployed.
  • Work to ensure that training is accessible and equitable.
  • Promote lifelong learning.
